Memberships

OKBOA

Membership

Since this is a startup professional organization for building code officials, the requirements to become an active member of OKBOA are that individuals must work as building inspectors or plans examiners and be qualified through state building inspector licensure, ICC building code certification, or employment with a local jurisdiction that enforces building codes.

Currently all memberships to the Oklahoma Building Officials Association (OKBOA) are general memberships. As a startup organization and beginning in January 2026, no official bylaws have been created. Bylaws and organization leadership will be created once we have enough body of members.

OKBOA is being created to provide Building Code Professionals with the following:

  • A single organization that is statewide, that encompasses all building code enforcement disciplines for the benefit, assistance, and development of our members and profession.
  • An organization that is centered on developing, applying, and properly enforcing the state adopted building codes.
  • An organization that is focused on building relationships amongst fellow building code professionals throughout the state. With a strong emphasis on creating an atmosphere and culture that welcomes all building code professionals and their opinions and ideas.
  • To address building code issues and laws with local and state governments.

If you are interested in being part of an organization dedicated to serving Oklahoma’s building code professionals, one that is inclusive, collaborative, and driven by its members, we invite you to join us using the application form below.

Once we have a body of building code professionals, we will work on creating bylaws, leadership, and committees.

We will communicate by:
Email- updates and personal communications
Zoom or other online source for regular meetings
Establish process for presenting/discussing proposals
